we've been staying pretty busy with work and school and halloween party plans . . . a new trader joe's opens in PROVIDENCE TOMORROW (no more having to drive to BOSTON for my favorite chips and salsa)! it's going to be a mad house . . . so we'll prob not go on opening day . .. but sigh . . . so happy for a little slice of home to be so nearby.
i spent 3 hours making eggshell chalk with my roommate this morning from his carton of eggs that expired yesterday. been feeling sort of gross and queasy all day from the smell of egg . . .
the picture above is hudson "not in the kitchen." i told him to leave while i was cooking and so he stayed out . . . but juuuuuuust barely. he's one smart, infuriating cookie.
i've made 4 pumpkin pies and some pumpkin/lentil soup and roasted pumpkin seeds . . . how very fall of me.
we've pulled a few very large ticks off of hudson since our latest camping trip (pictures to follow . . . of the camping, not the ticks).
jon and i have both sent in our absentee ballots this week! we feel like very responsible citizens.
on top of that, jon has been riding his bike everywhere he goes. even with gas prices going down, this has really helped our budget, his health, and the CO2 in the atmosphere.
speaking of atmosphere, jon flew to minneaopolis at the beginning of october and presented a paper. he had a great time, met some more professionals in his field including a professor from OSU . . . we are now dreaming of a possible professorship there in the future and a farm outside of town . . .
uuuummm . . . i'm sure there is more . . . but it's "late" and i'm tired.
off to bed!
love you!
