final christmas post

this is the last post about christmas y'all.

so enjoy.

a few pictures of things we did since christmas . . .

after hiking at silver creek falls we went home and dried off and warmed up. debs and i put on the coats that we each got for each other at H&M for christmas (she got mine in europe, so it's cooler. i just got her's in rhode island). this picture also shows off my awesome boots (that some people love and some hate) that jon got for me at s.m.u.t. in portland . . . sigh.

then miss arwen came down and we went to target together . . . jon got me some AMAZING ear muffs and arwen got me this killer hat/visor/headband thing that works perfectly for my dreads.

best. christmas. ever.

after that, we headed to the blue pepper to see our own dear miss breanna paletta in concert.
she. broke. my. heart.

as always.

we took way too many stupid pictures to keep ourselves from crying. you wish you were as cool as we are.

other things happened . . . jon and i had breakfast at beulahland . . . oh the glory of vegetarian biscuits and gravy and the brekky burrito.

and arwen and i went to pix. GLORIOUS.

muscat and the most chocolately goodnesss of ever.

we stayed with my old roommates the last week of our trip up in portland. hudson did pretty well at their house, especially since they gave him their peanut butter jars to finish off. it was funny cause he couldn't reach the bottom of the jar with his tongue cause it was too deep. but oh would he try!

for new year's eve, a small group of us went to the MONTAGE for dinner . . . (basil mac for me!), wine and tin foil creatures. this picture was actually supposed to be something else, but i accidentally uploaded it instead of a picture of sara and pete . . . so pretend that this is sara and pete.
Photobucket
(it is actually cousin caitlin).

then we went back to the girl's house to ring in the new year with a game of apples to apples and some sparkling cider and such.

and firework watching on the porch

we were basically exhausted from all the fun we'd had over the last three weeks, so we were glad we had a low-key new years
Photobucket

the next day . . . we slept in (obviously) . . . probably watched LOST all day . . . and then met some friends at the Horse Brass (a local pub and a local fav) before heading to erin's house for some cheesy old school music videos and "the buttercream gang" . . .

good times.

on our LAST full day in oregon . . . what did we do? we WENT HIKING again! this time in the gorge. we took the oneonta falls trail (not the water hike, the actual trail). there was snow again, but this time we were a bit more prepared.

gorgeous oregon
Photobucket

one of my favorite places on the hike

there is a part in the hike where you can walk behind a waterfall (one time i did this hike and totally slid in the mud! i think of it every time i get to this spot in the trail). and we stopped for a cheesy family portrait

the lovely gorge

that night, we met a few friends at papa haydn's - an amazing dessert place on NW 23rd. it is owned by these two german sisters and they seriously know what they are doing.
Photobucket

your dessert looks like art and you don't want to eat it cause it is so beautiful. and then you try it and you don't want to eat it cause it is so good and you know it will be gone soon.
Photobucket

we galavanted around 23rd for a bit and then headed home to start the packing process and get two hours of sleep.

i'm glad we stayed with the girls that week because it meant that we got to see them and stay up late with them the night before we left . . . i knew i would be back soon for the birth of jamie's baby though (more on that trip soon!) so it made it easier to go . . .

sara picked us up early the next morning and we made our way to the airport. by the time we made it through the line, paid extra for our overstuffed bags, checked the dog, got through security (jon had some liquid in his bag - good thing rachel works in the airport so she could take it and mail it to us!), said hello to rachel and snagged some coffee beans, our plane was in final boarding.

we found our seats and were told that the temp at our destination was 12 degress. and windy. yuck. we slept most of the flight and made it safely to boston where danny picked us up and we drove back to providence . . . to an empty apartment and our own bed.

hudson was pretty pooped from the long plane ride and the car ride. he spent about a week just chilling and resting and sleeping.

it was like he was a different dog! don't worry. he is back to normal now and getting in to trouble as usual. today he even got a bath!

since our trip, we've spent a lot of time rearranging the apt, painting, getting to know our new roommate who moved in a few weeks ago, working, spending time with new friends and trying to love the city we live in.

it's hard because we LOVE and miss portland so. much.

the end.
