tomorrow is april . . .

the new colors of our apt walls

I can't believe it is the END of march! These last few months have FLOWN by for us! we've both been working really hard. jon has been super busy with school and tabitha is now working 6 days a week - 3 days at one job and 3 at another. combine that with keeping our dog entertained, our house clean, taking monthly trips to boston to shop at trader joe's, tabitha volunteering with a local non profit, playing nightly games of boggle with lisa (our roommate), visiting friends and family in nearby towns and building relationships with the new people we've met here - our schedule has been pretty busy!

last week was spring break for jon. initially, we wanted to take a road trip to vermont or main or tennessee . . . but it turned out that jon had so much work to do for school that he was actually BUSIER than on a normal school week. and tabitha couldn't miss that much work since she went to portland in feb to see about a friend's baby and will be in oregon again in april for her sister's graduation. next spring break, we promised each other that we will get out of the state no matter how much work there is to be done.

so, now we have 2 months left to be in providence! jon finishes school around the end of april . . . and then "graduates" his first year at the end of may. (they hold a formal ceremony for all the first year phd students and give them a master's degree). jon's mom will be flying out to spend a week with us at the end of may. we hope to do a lot of sight seeing with her as well as celebrate jon's graduation. (though while she's here we will also be packing up the apt!).

in june we will head to alaska to spend the summer in juneau living and working with friends (and deborah! tabitha's sister!) in the tourism industry. woot. we are actually really excited to be back on the west coast and living near people we've known and loved for a long time! we are also excited to take our alaskan dog to alaska and see how he does. tabitha suspects that it is likely that he will be eaten by bears.

so, that's a brief update . . . what's new with you? we'd love to hear from you! or have you come and visit us (here or in alaska)!!

things we could use: letters, post cards, naps, coffee beans, love, sunshine, sprinkles, phone calls, emails, visitors, money, plane tickets to alaska, rei gift cards, chocolate chips and death cab for cutie tickets.
